Tutoring so as not to waste time

When I selected my graduate studies, I already had an idea about things that interested me and also those I did not want to devote my time to. As a result of entering graduate tutor studies I was able to leave out certain courses that up until then had been obligatory in case of my selected specialisation and add the courses that suited my needs. More freedom when selecting courses was also a big advantage of the Erasmus+ students exchange programme. Before that, it was much harder to achieve full academic programme cohesion with the host university. Because of that, a great many people resigned from the programme. Myself, being a student of graduate tutor studies, has no problem with that at all. And I would never give up the experience of studying in the Basque Country at the Mondragon Unibertsitatea!

However, the most important factor about these new studies is the unique relation between the students and the tutors. It is not only about the cooperation while the students write their theses, but also an enormous support in daily activities at the university. It was thanks to my tutor that I was able to gain experience while developing the system of monitoring human motion and engage in my professional career in the most pleasant atmosphere possible!

As a part of my BEng Thesis, I created algorithms for detecting and recognising clouds of points on the surface of human body with the OGX|4DBODY system. I had to develop and implement algorithms that enabled me to flawlessly assign data to the areas of the body they were coming from. My most vivid memory is that of brainstorming with the tutor, for despite the fact that it was my thesis, I could always count on the entire team. And cooperation always bears the best fruit! Currently I am looking for implementations for the system. The benefit of the OGX|4Dbody system as a marker-less method is the possibility of ensuring consistency of measurements. And the enormous quantity of data gathered during every research allows for a precise evaluation of changes a given body is undergoing. Would it be possible to replace the traditional EMG examination with our system? I am verifying now. I compare the activity of triceps surae with the changes of the surface around it. Based on the data collected with the use of the OGX|4DBODY system, I calculate the curve in consecutive motion phases and try to find the coefficient in best correlation with the EMG data gathered at the same time. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
