Photonics Engineering Specialisation

Graduates of the first degree programme in the Photonic Engineering specialisation have acquired interdisciplinary competences combining physics, applied mathematics and technical problems in the area of design and manufacturing of optical equipment and optical and photonic methods of information measurement and processing. The graduates have been well-prepared for construction of photonic systems with extremely strict measurement accuracies by means of interferential and holographic methods, automation of measurements, design of automatic image recognition systems (machine vision), of space or medical equipment, environmental protection, design and research of optical and optoelectronic equipment (including MEMS and MOEMS), etc. The education they have received also predisposes the graduates to independent research and scientific work.

Electronic Measurement Systems Specialisation

The Electronic Measurement Systems Specialisation combines physics and applied mathematics with electronics, IT, industrial automatics and metrology. The graduates are trained in designing sensory units for temperature, mass, pressure and current measurement. They are also trained in designing the units for analogue and digital processing of the measurement signal, as well as visualisation units and measurement transmission units in industrial measurement systems, automatic control systems and control systems. Moreover, the graduates of this specialisation are prepared to design new measurement methods and analyse the precision of measurements taken.

Micromechanics Specialisation

The graduates of Micromechanics Specialisation have been trained in designing mechatronics devices and solving complex, interdisciplinary project-construction problems. These graduates have the necessary practical knowledge of methods and tools for computer-assisted designing, microprocessor control, drives and executive units, as well as devices sensory units. The students are prepared to design and supervise the exploitation of precision and micro devices, drive units for precision positioning, biomechanical equipment, utility devices and mechanisation units,, automatisation units and robotisation units for technological processes of the electronics and precision industry, as well as computers and multimedia devices.

Microtechnologies and Nanotechnologies Specialisation

A graduate of the first degree studies in Microtechnologies and Nanotechnologies specialisation receives an education on the Mechatronics studies, encompassing the issues of mechatronic and electronic microsystems technologies, processing and forming microtechnology, as well as applying nanomaterials in electronics and construction composites. The person holds knowledge and skills required for designing construction elements, electronic units and technological processes employing CAD / CAM / CAE computer engineering tools. Moreover, the graduate learns about modern production technologies like additive manufacturing or print technology. The accumulated knowledge enables the student to construct mechatronic and electronic units and design processes and technological devices used in their manufacturing.

Multimedia Techniques Specialisation

The graduates of this specialisation have gained expertise and skills in the area of constructing and using audiovisual devices, designing technical equipment of radio and TV studios, lecture rooms and conference rooms, equipping a movie stage and related areas. IT, technology, metrology and automatics constitute the basis for the education programme/ Additionally, the students receive knowledge from selected humanities areas of expertise, including selected history, culture, art, psychology and cooperation with artists.

Coordinate-measuring Systems Specialisation

A graduate of this specialty receives the theoretical and applied knowledge from the area of coordinate metrology, measurement systems and analysis of uncertainty of measurement, as well as statistical methods of results analysis. This education course encompasses coordinate measurement methods, including construction and use of measurement machines and arms, industrial computed tomography. industrial interferometry, methods of measuring variability of shape and macro- and microgeometry of surfaces. The knowledge and skills gained enable the student to design measurement systems aimed at quality control.

Automatics, Robotics and Industrial IT studies

Automatics specialisation

The graduates of the Automatics specialisation possess the knowledge and skills encompassing the area of designing and researching automatics and drives systems. They are prepared to solve issues pertaining to automating production processes, but also to conduct research on automatics, devising and implementing computer-assisted designing techniques, diagnose and automate experimental research, as well as to devise, implement and supervise the use of modern automatics devices, monitoring systems and controlling industrial processes. The graduates are prepared to undertake work,  in industry, in research and development institutions and at universities.

Industrial IT specialisation

The graduates of the Industrial IT specialisation possess the knowledge and skills necessary to undertake work in the area of IT applied in the production industry. They are capable of devising and programme an ingrained control and smart data analysis system, as well as of maintaining systems of production support. They are trained to independently execute engineering tasks in interdisciplinary teams solving issues connected with designing and using mechatronics devices. They are capable of programming universal and specialised computers , both locally and as a part of a network. They can implement and exploit advanced IT control, support and production management systems, as well as decision-making support systems. They are capable of expanding and combining systems into one cohesive system adjusted to the needs of a given company. With these skills, our graduates will find employment in large production facilities, utilising advanced control and decision-making systems (refineries, energetics, chemical industry, etc.), as well as in design offices, where they will create devices utilising IT technologies for control and supervision.

Robotics specialisation

The graduates of the Robotics specialisation possess knowledge and skills in the area combining mathematics, physics and control theory with the technical issues of manufacturing and utilising robots and industrial manipulators and mobile robots. The graduates are prepared to solve the construction problems of manipulation machines and robots, to design the control systems of these machines and to formulate the conditions of their application  in the production process. The graduates can design and integrate automated production stations and lines, construct specialised robots and manipulators and conduct research work in the field of mobile and industry robotics.

The remote studies are organised by the Remote Education Department (www.okno.pw.edu.pl) as a part of the Automatics Robotics and Industrial IT studies.
