Scholarship under the Christmast Tree

This is an exceptional distinction for students and doctoral students of Warsaw University of Technology who achieve success (scientific, sporting, artistic, other), participate in projects and events promoting our University, popularise science, engage in social and charitable activities. In this way, we want to recognise the contribution of these individuals to building the image of the University.

The laureates are selected from among the submitted applications. The selection is made by a chapter chaired by the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs.

The award has been granted since 2016. To date, there have been six editions of the campaign, during which we have awarded 46 talented students and doctoral students.

Who can apply?

Applications can be submitted by the authorities of the Warsaw University of Technology, deans of faculties and students and doctoral students on their own behalf.

The scholarship may be awarded to students or doctoral students who, between 2020 and 2022:

•  have been successful in academic competitions and contests of national or international scope,
• have been successful in artistic, sports or other competitions and contests of national or international range,
• have participated in projects, initiatives, events promoting Warsaw University of Technology,
• have actively contributed to the dissemination of scientific issues among children, young people and adults,
• engaged in social and charitable activities.

Each criterion is scored (see regulations for details). Additional points may be awarded for the diligence of the presentation.

The Christmas Tree Scholarship will be awarded to the candidates with the highest number of points. Winners of previous editions are not eligible to apply for the Christmas Tree Scholarship 2022.

How to apply?

Applications should be submitted to the Office of Communications and Promotion in electronic form to: eventy@pw.edu.pl between 12 October and 2 November, 2022.

The application should include:

• a multimedia presentation, prepared in accordance with the guidelines described in the terms and conditions,
• a statement by the candidate on whether or not he/she agrees to his/her image being made available for marketing purposes (annex 1 to the terms and conditions),
• information regarding the person submitting the application (if the application is not submitted by the candidate, annex 2 to the terms and conditions).

Additional information:

• The chapter will select the successful candidates based on the documents submitted. In exceptional cases, it is possible to invite a candidate to an individual meeting.
• The chapter will determine the number and amount of scholarships.
• The scholarship is paid out in a single payment.
• Prizes in kind may be awarded to the winners.
• The chapter will notify the winners of the verdict by e-mail.
• The scholarship award ceremony will take place at a time indicated by the Chapter.
