a day when the heart sends regards,

Remembers those who bid us farewell."

As a result of the limit on the number of applications filed in by a university in the “Student research groups create innovations” programme, a committee for evaluating the applications will select the papers to be sent to the Ministry. Final application forms should be filed in the COP PW State Projects Department on 3 November at the latest.

In the World's TOP 2% Scientists 2021 list, the Warsaw University of Technology has 47 representatives in the list covering the entire research career and 38 in the list of achievements for the last year only. Among this group, there are four scientists from our Faculty. Among the scientists from the Warsaw University of Technology in the World's TOP 2% Scientists 2021* list (data for the entire career) is Małgorzata Kujawińska, Prof. Tit, PhD (Optoelectronics & Photonics). On the other hand, in the World's TOP 2% Scientists 2021* list (last year's data) we can find: Tomasz Kozacki Prof.Tit, PhD, BEng (Optoelectronics & Photonics), Maciej Trusiak Prof.Tit, PhD, BEng (Optoelectronics & Photonics) and Krzysztof Patorski Prof.Tit, PhD, BEng (Optoelectronics & Photonics). Congratulations!

The charm of details

We have a new device at PW, offering unprecedented opportunities - it is the Nanoscribe Photonic Professional GT2 printer that enables for manufacture of high-resolution 3D objects. The device utilises the phenomenon of two-photon absorption, in which a duo of photons takes part in polymerising an individual chemical particle. By putting in specific settings of the laser, the researchers are capable of curing the polymer only within the laser stream. The smallest shape that this method enables to be cured is a voxel, which can be treated as a counterpart of a pixel on 2D screens.
