Faculty Ombudsman

Bullying - actions or behaviour concerning an employee or directed against an employee, consisting of persistent and prolonged harassment or intimidation of an employee, causing an employee's appraisal of his/her professional usefulness to be lowered, causing or intended to cause humiliation or ridicule of an employee, isolating him/her or eliminating him/her from his/her team of co-workers.

Discrimination - any unequal treatment of a person in a situation comparable to that of another person, where the unequal treatment is based in particular on one or more of the following characteristics: sex, age, disability, race, nationality, political opinion, union membership, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, and also on the grounds of employment for a definite or indefinite period of time or full-time or part-time employment. Discrimination on grounds of sex shall also include any unwanted conduct of a sexual or gender-specific nature, with the purpose or effect of violating the dignity of a person, in particular by creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment with regard to that person, which may include verbal or non-verbal conduct.

Ombudsperson - a person of first contact, whose task is to monitor, prevent and consider, at the mediation stage of the process of counteracting mobbing and discrimination, disputes arising from the phenomena of mobbing or discrimination at Warsaw University of Technology.

Stakeholder - an employee, student or doctoral candidate of Warsaw University of Technology who believes that he/she has been subjected to mobbing or discrimination.
