  • PW Main Library - NUKAT - National Universal Central Catalogue - it contains information on resources of Polish scientific libraries; books, magazines, sound records, music prints, movies, cartographic and iconographic documents, as well as social life documents.
  • KaRo – Catalogue of Decentralised Polish Libraries - it contains information on the resources of Polish libraries, including the scientific ones.
  • BN catalogues and bibliographies  - The National Library – Polish central library. The catalogues provide access to the information on national written legacy and poloniks beyond the borders of Poland.

POLISH AND INTERNATIONAL NORMS

If you are looking for Polish and international norms, use the following sources...

  • Norms Library, Scientific Information Branch of BGPW, Main building, room161B. PW Main Library provides a broad collection of Polish norms, including the ISO, EN and IEC norms - harmonized with Polish norms, as well as a collection of selected BN industry norms. Here you will find as follows: 
  • Norms available online - Full-text access to a collection of Polish norms from a computer provided in the reading room. There is no option to print or copy the norms provided online. Norms provided on paper - You can check their availability onsite at the library, via email: oin@bg.pw.edu.pl or via phone: 22 234 7300. The information on norms published past 2013 is available in the Catalogue tab
  • Materials Science Lexicon - The database contains information on engineering materials (metals, polymers, ceramics and composites), along with indices of norms and their international counterparts. The materials characteristics cards include, among others, their chemical composition, mechanical properties, physical properties, half-finished products, options for application during technological processes of treatment and a comparison of foreign and international norms. The database is available on a DVD.
  • Perinorm Europe - The database reflects the current state of norms and technical regulations in all areas of science, technology and economy. The documents are supplemented with abstracts, keywords, and information about interdependencies of a given norm with other norms. Perinorm Europe includes the following descriptions of norms: Austrian, Belgian, British, Czech, French, Dutch, German, Polish, Swiss, Turkish, European and international ones, including ISO, IEC, ITU, ETSI, CEN and CENELEC. The database is available on a DVD.

  • The Catalogue of the Polish Committee for Standardization -  the basic source of Polish norms is the Catalogue of the Polish Committee for Standardization. You can find there the specific numbers of norms.
  • IEEE Xplore - a database devised by Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers among others for norms in the following disciplines: Bioengineering, Communication, Networking & Broadcasting, Components, Circuits, Devices & Systems, Computing & Processing (Hardware/Software), Engineered Materials, Dielectrics & Plasmas, Engineering Profession, Fields, Waves & Electromagnetics, General Topics for Engineers (Math, Science & Engineering), Geoscience, Nuclear Engineering, Photonics & Electro-Optics, Power, Energy, & Industry Applications, Robotics & Control Systems, Signal Processing & Analysis, Transportation.
  • IHS Standards Expert / service of technical norms  - Provides an access (up to the abstract level) to one platform for active and archive technical documents (mainly norms and standards) from over 370 organisations setting technical standards across the world (except for Poland).

If you are looking for patents - select...

List e-databases (All resources of Electronic resources tab) and then:

  • Patents – Espacenet - Access to over 70 million patent documents from around the world, including patent applications and patents granted. The database reaches as far back as 1836. There is also the option to access the database with a Polish interface. You can browse a full collection of documents from over 80 countries (Worldwide sub-base), WO documents (WIPO sub-base of World Intellectual Property Database) EP documents (EP sub-base of the European Patent Office) and the collection of documents of individual countries, including Poland (PL sub-base).
  • Patents – Publications server - Database of full text of patents issued by Polish Patent Office, including Polish patent descriptions, Polish descriptions of protective utility patterns and the translations into Polish of European patents in force in Poland.
  • Patents – UPRP databases - Information of applications and granted exclusive rights: inventions, utility patterns, industrial blueprints (including decorative ones), trademarks and geographic designations.
  • InPro Research - InPro Research is a tool facilitating the process of conducting research in the area of innovations, utility patterns, industrial blueprints and trademarks. An automated process of monitoring new applications and granting rights ensure a constant control of the market and competition.
