Nakręcona Nauka – learn to make popular science movies

Registration for the "Nakręcona Nauka" training course is open - a unique training created by scientists by scientists on creating popular science video content. This edition will for the first time take place at PW between 23-26 November 2023 at Rektorska 4 street. It will be preceded by 4 online meetings (6, 8, 13 and 15 November) to prepare the participants for the intensive onsite meeting. Owing to the sponsorship provided by IDUB, the participation of people from PW is free of charge (there is a limit of spots available). Registration is open until 20 November 2023. The Monday classes to take place on Thursday

On 26 October 2023 (Thursday) all classes will take place according to the Monday schedule - as per the PW Rector’s decree, §1 par. 3, no. 28/2023 from 30 May 2023 on detailed plan of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Mechanical Engineering Job Fair

We invite you to the Mechanical Engineering Job Fair, scheduled for 26 October, 2023 between 9:00 and 15:30 at the Faculty of Cars and Robotic Machines of PW, at Narbutta 84 street in Warsaw. The participants may, among others:
- visit the 27 stands of potential employers from the automotive, robotic machines, rail vehicles, mechanical and hydraulic systems and mechanical post-processing sectors;

19 October 2023 at 12:00 is the deadline for applications for the Erasmus+ Accreditation. You are most welcome to apply! The Erasmus+ Accreditation is often coined the “entry ticket” to the programme or a type of permanent membership there. In practical terms, this means that you no longer have to take part in annual applications contests and that you can have stable financing of mobility-related actions for several years to follow. Mechatronics in the World’s TOP 2% Scientists 2022 ranking

The World’s TOP 2% Scientists 2022 ranking, prepared by the Stanford University in cooperation with Elsevier Publishing House, includes 59 representatives of Warsaw University of Technology. Three among them are nominated for their entire scientific work: Tomasz Kozacki, Prof.Tit., PhD, BEng, Małgorzata Kujawińska, Prof.Tit., PhD, BEng and Krzysztof Patorski, Prof.Tit., PhD, BEng. Invitation to the Toastmasters Leaders club meetings!

Toastmasters Leaders is the largest Polish club to support the development of delivering public speeches and leadership skills. If you are interested in public speeches skills, improving your leadership qualities, meeting ambitious people and gaining more confidence on and off the stage, this is the place for you. Hakaton

Science for Climate Change is a hackathon dedicated to the respect to environment and work for the benefit of climate. Together, we look for solutions that will significantly improve the condition of our environment. Come and design a solution connected with one of the following three areas: Energy, Smart City, Circular Economy. Deadline for registration 18 October 2023. First award is a spot in the PW Preincubation Programme, including an option of financing the project with up to 1 mln PLN. Second award is 6 months of free space in the coworking area on Rektorska 4 street. Others include Interrail Global Pass train tickets for a 2-months long train trip across Europe. The Creative Youth

We encourage you to take part in “The Creative Youth” project. It is coordinated by the POlish Foundation of Kids and Youth and financed by the city of Warsaw. The programme, with its goal of supporting initiatives and creative forms of activity, is addressed at students of Warsaw universities, as well as at young citizens of Warsaw. The students groups taking part in the project will have an opportunity to bring their social projects into life. As a part of the programme, up to 1650 PLN will be secured to enable the purchasing of wares and services necessary to implement the ideas. The innovative ideas may pertain to any sphere of life and be connected with the studies profile or interests of a given group. More

We invite to the Work and Internship Fair for IT and Electronics Staff. It is an opportunity to meet employers offering internship and job positions for students looking for such offers. Competition for the ABB Award

Take part in the Competition for the ABB Award for the best defended BE, ME and PhD papers. Main award is PLN 30 000 and two awards of PLN 15 000. The deadline for applications is 15 November 2023. The organiser is ABB Corporate Technological Centre.

Training courses as a part of the ENHANCE consortium

Foreign Languages Study invites PW students to enrol in courses prepared in cooperation with the Aachen University of Technology and the Valentia University of Technology as a part of the ENHANCE consortium. The deadline for applications is 5 October 2023. All graduates receive certificates.

Get an insurance at PZU

Insurance is available to employees, full-time and part-time students and doctoral students. The sum insured per person is PLN 65,000 and the annual premium payable once per person is: PLN 60. The insurance period is the next academic year, i.e. 01.10.2023. - 30.09.2024. Payments for the insurance should be made to the virtual account of Warsaw University of Technology. Fee for student ID cards

ATTENTION: First-year students (academic year 2023/2024). It is essential that you pay your student ID card fee (PLN 22) to the individual account visible after logging in to the USOS system.

Check your mail at the addresses provided by the university.

Should you fail to make the payment, the student cards will not be printed and therefore you will not receive them after the inauguration of the academic year. The pass will also not be printed if there is no photo uploaded to the system.

Last Goodbye

It is with deepest grief and sadness that we inform you that Anna Lewińska-Romicka, PhD, BEng has passed away on 16 September 2023. She was a long-standing researcher at the PW Faculty of Mechatronics.

The funeral services will begin with a memorial service on 26 September 2023 (Tuesday) at 10:00 in the Halpert Chapel at the Evangelical-Augsburg graveyard.
