On behalf of the ENHANCE consortium (see THE MOVIE), we invite you to a virtual meeting as part of the ENHANCE Conversations series. This year's meeting focuses on the 'skills of the future' and the process of equipping students with the competences and values that will help them cope with the challenges of tomorrow. ENHANCE Conversations is a cyclical meeting of entrepreneurs, politicians, researchers and citizens interested in the future of Europe who are looking for innovative solutions to the challenges of our civilisation.

On 24 February 2024  (Saturday) at 10:00 we will host the graduation ceremony at the Faculty of Mechatronics  for students receiving their diplomas in the 2023/24 academic year.

Registration for physical education classes

Registration for physical education classes in the summer semester 2023/2024 will take place via the USOS system according to the schedule below: start of registration: 12/02/24 at 8:00 a.m., end of registration: 25/02/24 at 5:00 p.m. The rules for passing PE classes and any issues related to medical and sports exemptions can be found at the SWFiS PW website https://www.swfis.pw.edu.pl/. National TRUMPF Huettinger Contest for the best BEng, MEng and PhD paper

We invite graduates who defended in the calendar year 2023 and whose thesis was thematically related to: Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technology or Technical Informatics and Telecommunications. The work can be written in Polish or English. The jury will select 9 winners - 3 each of the authors of engineering, master's and doctoral theses. Cooperation with PAN

The Institute of Basic Technical Problems of PAN as a part of agreement on cooperation with Warsaw University of Technology invites students, PhD students and academic employees of PW to cooperation, including:

  • conducting student internships and placements in IPPT PAN in the fields of mechanical engineering, materials engineering, technical informatics and telecommunications, biomedical engineering;
  • participation in research projects currently implemented in IPPT PAN;
  • realisation of engineering, master's and doctoral theses, in which the role of consultants and assistant supervisors will be played by
  • The role of consultants and supervisors will be assumed by the staff of IPPT PAN;
  • participation in didactic classes conducted in IPPT PAN.

Academic Research Source

Main Library has gained test to the Academic Research Source database, i.e. a multidisciplinary database offering a broad, full-text access to books and magazines. The scope of the database includes among others: medical studies, environmental studies, psychology, humanities, applied sciences, social sciences, education, mathematics, language learning support, political studies, dictionaries and lexicons, environmental protection, law, business and economy, chemistry, IT, engineering and more.

Brainhack Warsaw

On 15-17 March 2024, the sixth edition of Brainhack Warsaw will take place at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw. Brainhack is a three-day hackathon combined with a mini-conference. The event aims to meet new enthusiastic researchers, make new friends in academia, share knowledge, and promote open science in the spirit of the whole Brainhack community. The projects you will be working on during the hackathon are mainly related to the topics of neuroscience, data processing and machine learning. The deadline for accepting project proposals has been extended by one week and is 14.01.2024!

"You Can’t Tell by Looking at Me" Foundation from the Centrum CBT

The “You Can’t Tell by Looking at Me” Foundation executes tasks related to the prevention of depressive disorders for people of 21 years of age and less within the Mazowieckie Province. The clinics of Centrum CBT in Warsaw conduct complimentary diagnostics on occurrence of depression in teenagers and adolescents. Obituary

It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we inform of the passing of a long-term academic teacher at our Faculty Marek Żelazny, PhD, BEng. The farewell mass will take place on 5 January 2024 at 11:30 at the Maksymilian Kolbe Church in Warsaw.

Virtual Reality in Patients Rehabilitation

The scientists from the PW Faculty of Mechatronics have devised three applications utilising virtual reality that assist in curing people who have suffered a stroke.

Direction space!

Members of a team from our Faculty of Mechatronics and from the University of Warsaw have become the finalists of the DirectionSpace contest by designing an innovative project of a space experiment, to be conducted onboard the International Space Station. The GrowLight Team has presented their LASPA project - Laser Amplitude Stimulated Plant Agriculture at the 7th Silesia Science Festival in Katowice, becoming the only finalists from Masovia. Our students will compete with 11 best teams to gain the finances for the project and a study tour to CERN. The experiment tests the influence of microgravity on the development of plants stimulated with laser light.

Contest for the Award of Siemens and Warsaw University of Technology

The Siemens company and Warsaw University of Technology for the 28th time, and for the second time in new formula, organise a contest. Its mission is to support the development and achievements of students and young scientists. The awards will go to projects from the area of Industry 4.0, such as big data, AI or the internet of things. Additionally, they are to support the entrepreneurs make their businesses more ec0-friendly. The slogan of the contest is “Balanced industry through digital transformation and green technologies”.

Can the impact unicorns be built at Warsaw University of Technology?

Every month we host a meeting of the Sciencepreneurs' Club at the Centre for Innovation of PW at Rektorska 4. There, in a rather relaxed atmosphere (pizza) we listen to the stories of entrepreneurial people related to PW, including scientists and innovators. We highly recommend the whole thing but this time on Tuesday, 12 December, it will be particularly interesting to listen to Marcin Koziorowski, the head of the EcoBean company. The company recovers money from… coffee grounds. Here is the link to registration.
