The Micromechanics and Fotonics

The Micromechanics and Photonics Institute researches and implements modelling and optimizing projects of mechatronics precision devices, smart, low-power engine electromechanical components, positional components, selected areas of mechanics and micromechanics, tribological and mechanical properties of materials in micro- and nanoscale, research on miniature friction couples, micro- and nanodynamics modelling of oscillating objects, optical methods of research and control of objects between nano- and macro-scales, construction and testing of optical and photonic apparatus, optical imaging techniques and 2D/3D/4D data processing methods.

The education courses conducted by the Micromechanics and Photonics Institute employees includes basic courses, offered to all students of the Faculty of Mechatronics (mechanics, materials resistance, precision devices construction, engineering graphics, optomechatronics), as well as a broad scope of selectible courses. The Institute also supervises the Micromechanics and Photonics Engineering specialty under Mechatronics studies and Photonics Engineering under the same studies.

The Institute’s cooperation with its social-economic environment includes research and implementation projects conducted along with research units (universities, scientific institutes), the entrepreneurs sector (R&D projects for companies), social sector (cooperation with museums, NID and NIMOZ institutes) and national services (Police Department, Central Office of Measures). Moreover, the Institute conducts numerous research grants in cooperation foreign institutes.
