2022 Warsaw University of Technology Celebration

15 November is a special date for us
On this day we celebrate PW Day - to commemorate the events of 1915, when the first academic year began with Polish as the language of instruction. We will celebrate together with our entire community.
The celebrations of Warsaw University of Technology Day 2022 will begin with a ceremonial meeting of the Senate, during which - in accordance with tradition - the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, Krzysztof Zaremba, Prof.Tit., will deliver a speech and present medals, badges, diplomas and awards.
At 4.15 p.m. everyone is invited to take a walk around our University. Participants will learn many interesting facts about the Polytechnic Square, the theatrical façade of the Main Building and the Large Hall. There will be no shortage of answers to questions about Ignacy Mościcki, the wartime (including the uprising) fate of the Polytechnic, and even about the companions of a knowledge genius or a cycling enthusiast on the fountain frame. This is an ideal opportunity to learn more about the history of our Central Campus and its surroundings. Piotr Wierzbicki, a well-known Warsaw guide who is a friend of the University of Technology, will guide you around PW. The walk will last approximately 1.5 hours. Admission is free (until the limit of places is reached). We will gather in front of the Main Building.

On PW Day we especially remember the heroes. Around 6 p.m., the university delegation will place flowers under the plaques in the Main Building, commemorating the participation of people from PW in the fight for free and independent Poland.
The celebration will conclude with a meeting with our graduates who can boast of outstanding professional achievements. These individuals will be honoured with diplomas and Golden Book statues.
