World’s TOP 2% Scientists 2020 is made of two separate lists. The first one evaluates scientific work from the start of a career till 2022, whereas the second one only takes into account the citations and publications from the current calendar year. PW boasts 49 employees on the former list an 34 on the latter. In total, it is 57 people, as some of them appear in both rankings.

There are 147 institutions on the lifetime-work ranking (universities and research institutes) from Poland and 957 scientists. As for the other list, it features 153 national institutions and 1027 people.

The TOP 2% Ranking has been developed based on the lifetime scientific work of the scientists, according to the bibliometric index. The criteria for evaluation include the Hirsh’s index, number of citations (including autocitations), Impact Factor and the role on the authors list.

There are 15 more scientists from PW on this year’s ranking, compared to the previous one.

Our researchers represent the following areas of expertise: Engineering (23 people), Enabling & Strategic Technologies (15 people), Physics & Astronomy (9 people), Information & Communication Technologies (5 people), Chemistry (4 people) and Biomedical Research (1 person).
