Recruitment step-by-step
  1. Contact the potential promoter of your choice to obtain their agreement and to determine the initial topic of your dissertation. You will find the Promoter and Research Topic Finder helpful in finding a potential promoter. Here you will find a list of promoters, check the limits of places to specific people, and find out about the area of research interest of potential promoters.
  2. Register with the IRK system. Submit the required documents there. You have until 5 January to do so.
  3. Interviews will take place between 16 and 22 January, 2025.
  4. A ranking list is scheduled to be published on 28 January (please note, this is not an admission list).
  5. If you are on the ranking list, you have a few days (29 January-2 February) to submit supporting documents in the IRK system: a document confirming that you hold a degree entitling you to apply for admission to the School (diploma) or, if you do not have a diploma, a certificate of passing the diploma examination issued by the Faculty/Institute (if the aforementioned documents have not yet been uploaded to the system) and a statement on your choice of doctoral school/academic discipline.
  6. Admission lists will be published on 7 February. Admission is conditional on submission of the complete set of required documents, obtaining at least 60% of the points in the competition procedure and being within the admission limit set for the scientific discipline. Once the list of those admitted to the Doctoral School has been announced, the Doctoral Services Department will inform those on the list of the next steps, including the deadlines for the submission of original recruitment documents.
  7. The semester begins on 20 February.
