Free Marvin!

This is our access to the action of supporting digitally excluded people. We are looking for volunteers!

Many young people dream about studies in a few years but they are struggling with challenges of remote learning. Their eagerness to learn is often dashed by lack of equipment necessary to take active part in virtual classes. We have decided to cooperate with Sarigato Foundation (the Hackers Project) and the “Free Marvin” initiative to try and do some good for those students.

The winners of the young scholars contest for grants from our Faculty have been announced

The winners of the contest for grants for young scholars among our Faculty employees have been announced. The grants are designed for independent scientists or small teams focused on specific areas of research who have so far not channelled their scholarly interests and therefore don’t work on a regular basis with teams executing grants. One of the conditions for getting such a grant was for the person not to have any extra-university financing over the course of the last two years.

A chat on beekeeping

One of the University’s traditions are Wednesday chats with Robert Zalewski, ProfTit, Students Affairs Vice-Rector. His most imminent office hours will be unusual as he will host Łukasz Borus, Beng, PhD, who combines his work at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering with his passion for… beekeeping. You will see some interesting facts about different types of honey, life of bees and beekeeper’s everyday work. Hopefully, there will be some topics related to Christmas, like which honey one should choose for baking and which one to add to the tea.
