Students from the Warsaw University of Technology are invited to apply for the ATHENS programme, run at 15 polytechnics across Europe. The programme consists of a 5-day course and a cultural part. You can earn 2-3 ECTS credits for it. The programme is free of charge. Students cover travel, accommodation and subsistence costs. Recruitment will continue until 24 January 2025. The Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics of the Faculty of Mechatronics at the Warsaw University of Technology announces a call for candidates for the NCN SHENG project entitled. We would like to kindly inform you that a place called BREAK ROOM has been created in room 104 on the first floor in the high part of the Mechatronics Faculty Building, which will be made available to students, doctoral students, staff and guests of the Mechatronics Faculty. The space will be used for dining and relaxation by what we hope will be a pleasant place to meet and integrate. A self-service café has been launched in the room, offering coffee at the level of the best baristas, thanks to the use of natural milk, 100% Arabica. In addition, from 7 January 2025, a catering company will provide breakfast and lunch meals twice a day, Monday to Friday from 9:45 - 10:10 and 11:45 - 12:20. The menu will include dishes for everyone: meat, vegan, vegetarian.

During the 2024/2025 winter term, we will stage recruitment for MA degree stationary studies of the following areas:

• automatics, robotics and industrial IT;
• mechatronics;
• biomedical engineering.

We invite you to participate in an international educational cooperation programme between universities from Central and Eastern Europe and Asia in the fields of photonic applications, imaging and related technologies. Deadline for documents submission: 24 December, 2024.

Christmas is the time of miracles. Yet, you need no magic tricks to help. You good will, openness and some of your time will do. This year, we prepare gifts for Natasha and Tetiana.

Registration is open for the “Gender and Diversity in Science, Technology and Society (STS)" spring school, executed as a part of the ENHANCE programme (up to 9 ECTS) - DEADLINE 17.01.2025. On behalf of the International Cooperation Centre of PW and the ENHANCE consortium, of which PW is a member, you are most welcome to sign up to the course "Gender and Diversity in Science, Technology and Society (STS)" spring school, organised as a part of the ENHANCE initiative by the Berlin University of Technology. The ENHANCE microprogramme enables students to gain 3, 6 or 9 ECTS.

The Main Library has gained test access to the SciFlow tools, which facilitates the students’ work on their papers. It is a tool dedicated r researchers, students and other people working on research projects. The test access will be active till 26 January, 2025. For access and registration, visit SciFlow for PW - you need to create your account with an e-mail with the PW domain.

On 9 November, the house of Mr Zdzisław, the porter at Polna 50, burned down. The property was not insured and the inhabitants were not able to secure their belongings. At present, he is staying in a storage room that he strives to keep warm by himself. We would like him to be able to rebuild his house in spring owing to a collect. Zdzisław is a modest man, it took some convincing for a collect to be launched on his behalf and for his benefit. On his behalf - thank you for your help!  Link to the collect

The PhD School of Warsaw University of Technology announces the call for applications in the 1st competition within the NAWA PROM PW 2024 project. The programme concerns the financing of short-term academic exchange, i.e. trips of 5 to 30 days for both employees and PhD students. We have already got used to the fact that in late November and early December, our Faculties and PW student residences designate places where donations can be brought in as part of the Noble Parcel. This is also the case this year. The needs do not change either - we are waiting for long-term food, cleaning products, household items such as blankets, towels or bedding.
