On Tuesday, 1 October 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Mechatronics at the Warsaw University of Technology, the ceremonial Inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025 took place. The event was attended by a number of invited guests, including the university authorities, representatives of the self-government and students who are starting a new stage in their lives.

Warsaw University of Technology Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics announced a call for PhD Student position within the NCN PRELUDIUM BIS project: Bayesian interence in optical metrology. We come with an interesting piece of information: Pavel Rukat and Yelyzaveta Leshchenko spent the summer in an unusual way, taking part in the largest international analogue lunar mission - Mission Analogue Colony 1, organised by the Analog Astronaut Training Center (AATC). This unique event brought together analogue astronauts from around the world, and the AATC habitat was designed to accommodate 30 people in isolation, under fully controlled environmental, physiological and psychological conditions, with the approval of an ethics committee.

World’s TOP 2% Scientists includes two lists. First one is about the entire research career of a given individual, the other one is based on the bibliometric data from the last calendar year. Warsaw University of Technology boasts 64 employees, including 4 people from our Faculty, on the former list and 36 people, including 5 from our Faculty, on the latter.The World’s TOP 2% Scientists ranking is based on such bibliometric data as the total number of quotations, the Hirsch Index (h-index) and the Schreiber co-authorship adjusted index (hm-index).

You are cordially invited to take part in a competition for students and PhD students to submit didactic initiatives that will influence the development of modern education in Poland. The prize pool is PLN 7,000 and the deadline for submitting your projects is 10 November,2024. The organiser of the contest is Foundation for Quality Education, which has been raising the didactic bar in higher education for years. The Didactic Initiatives of Students contest is a response to the needs of the academic community - students, PhD students, lecturers and university authorities.

The test access will be available between 9 and 30 September, 2024 for all users from computers in the PW network and from any computer registered in the PW integrated library system.

RWTH Aachen University, a partner of Warsaw University of Technology within the ENHANCE consortium, invites students for the first ENHANCE online course entitled Planning Logistics Systems (5 ECTS). Conducted in English, the course will introduce participants to the key issues involved in planning and designing logistics networks, transport and warehouse operations from a quantitative point of view, using mathematical modelling techniques and optimisation methods. More

Eighty years since the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising is a time that has passed, but not gone away. Numerous mementoes left behind by the heroic uprising of the capital's inhabitants can be viewed until 15 October this year in the temporary exhibition hall of the Warsaw University of Technology Museum at 22 Nowowiejska Street.

The Swiss government's scholarship programme for Polish citizens provides scholarships for research stays (condition: obtaining a master's degree before 31 July 2025 - for candidates at ETH Zurich - 30 June 2025), PhD studies for young (born after 31 December 1989) master's graduates(condition: obtaining a master's degree before 31 July 2025 (for ETH Zurich candidates - 30 June 2025), and postdoc fellowships (age limit does not apply - obtaining a doctoral degree after 31 December 2021 and before 31 July 2025, for ETH Zurich - 30 June 2025) representing various disciplines.

You are invited to participate in an international student exchange programme between leading European technical universities. The next session of the ATHENS Programme will take place from 16-23 November 2024 and consists of an intensive course (30 hours), a cultural programme of European Dimension Activities (10 hours). The call for applications for the John Paul II scholarships for students of the Capital City of Warsaw was launched on 1 September. Opportunities are open to those who, despite difficult financial, health or family conditions, have good results in their studies and achieve success in science, art, sports or are involved in various social activities. The John Paul II Thought Centre is waiting for applications until 10 October. Scholarships are intended for pupils and students studying in Warsaw. The call for applications for primary and secondary school students ended in July. Now students have their time to document their achievements.
