If you are interested in international relations, Poland's role in the world in the face of the greatest challenges of our time and want to create change, this competition is for you! Write and submit an essay on strengthening Poland's role and Polish innovation in the Silicon Valley ecosystem in the United States. Poland has a lot to offer the world, and Polish scientists and students are winning the world's leading competitions. How to translate individual successes into successes for universities, academia, businesses, start-ups and Poland? The deadline for submitting competition entries is 2 December 2024! The main prize in the competition is a trip to Silicon Valley in June 2025.

NCN SHENG Project – PhD Student position filled
The Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics at the Faculty of Mechatronics, Warsaw University of Technology is announcing the results of a call for PhD Student position in the NCN SHENG project “[TRUE_QPI] High spatio-temporal throughput truly 2D/3D quantitative phase imaging at single-cell level”. Bilateral Poland-China project – Recruitment for PhD Positions
The Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics, Faculty of Mechatronics at Warsaw University of Technology, is now recruiting candidates for the NCBR project “[INTENCITY] High-throughput high-resolution quantitative phase microscopy and tomography with spatiotemporal coherence engineering for non-invasive single-cell analysis."
Applications for the BioLAB 2025-26 Programme are open
Fullbright’s Polish-American Commission invites students of biology-chemicals, biophysics, medical and related students to file their applications to the BioLAB Programme 2024-25. The applications will be open until 1 February, 2025. The people without Polish nationality must provide a certificate of completion of 1st degree studies (BEng or BA), aside from being an active student at a Polish university. Warsaw University of Technology Celebration
Traditionally, 15 November is celebrated as Warsaw University of Technology Day. This date is a reminder of the events of 1915, when the first academic year at our University with Polish as the language of instruction was inaugurated.
Three Minute Thesis 2024
For the first time, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition will be held at the Warsaw University of Technology! The event is aimed at PhD students, who are expected to talk on stage about their research - all in just three minutes and without the use of additional multimedia such as PowerPoint presentations etc. Applications are being accepted until 13 November 2024, 13:00. NCN SHENG Program – Opportunities for PhD Students/Undergraduate Researchers
The Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics at the Faculty of Mechatronics, Warsaw University of Technology, is inviting applications for the NCN SHENG project “[TRUE_QPI] High spatio-temporal throughput truly 2D/3D quantitative phase imaging at single-cell level” Applications are open for a PhD student or undergraduate researcher under the supervision of Prof. Małgorzata Kujawińska, who is accepting submissions via email at malgorzata.kujawinska@pw.edu.pl. Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact Prof. Kujawińska directly with any inquiries about the role.
November 2024
As is the tradition, on 1 November we visit cemeteries, light candles and commemorate the dear ones who passed away. May we also remember about the late employees, students and graduates of our Faculty. Honour their memory!
Results of supplementary elections for the Faculty of Mechatronics Council for the 2024-2028 term
The election to the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Mechatronics at PW in the group of academic teachers who are not employed as professors or university professors and do not hold a postdoctoral degree (Bw) was won by: Jan Klimaszewski, PhD, BEng.
Election to the Faculty Council of PW Mechatronics in the group of non-academic staff (C) was won by: Ilona Trendak, MEng.

ABB Award
We invite our students and graduates to participate in the ABB Prize competition. Applications are being accepted until 15.11.2024, details on how to enter can be found at - link. The winner of the competition will receive 30 000 PLN and the authors of two distinguished papers will receive 15 000 PLN each. The competition includes all defended BE, ME and PhD papers (without any dates).

"5th ALICE Upgrade Week" Conference
Students and staff from the Warsaw University of Technology's Faculties of Physics, Electronics and Information Technology, Mechatronics and Automobiles and Working Machines attended a prestigious conference focusing on the modernisation of the ALICE detector, one of the key research instruments used at CERN. The event was attended by people involved in the development of research projects related to large-scale physical experiments. Our staff play a key role in the implementation of new technological solutions, including the development of detector mechanics and the creation of DCS systems. Their participation in the modernisation of the ALICE detector highlights the importance of Polish scientists in global Big Science research projects. More information
Library training for 1st year students
The Library Training Course will be available: October 2 – 31, 2024 (for all students who study in English as the language of instruction). The training is obligatory. The library training for the 1st year students is conducted in an electronic way on the Leon platform
Obituary
Elżbieta Gruszczyńska, MEng, passed away on 18 October, 2024. She was a long-standing employee of the Faculty of Mechatronics, the creator and head of the Faculty Library. A wonderful, kind a good person. She will remain in our grateful memories forever.

The funeral will take place on 24 October, 2024 at 15:00 at the Funeral House, Room A at the Northern Communal Cementary.
The bolid of dreams
Several days ago we had the opportunity to welcome the new bolid of the WUT Racing team at our Faculty. - A project of this magnitude and advancement, requiring interdisciplinary cooperation - building a racing car - is based on suitable organisation of work, knowledge basis and the ability to establish cooperation between different students groups - says Marcin Płatek, head of the WUT Racing team.
Workshops
We have planned a series of of three workshops at PW, entitled ‘Turn Your Passion Into Business!’ It aims to test selected methods of inspiring young people in practice. Through open meetings with entrepreneurs and investors, we want to show the opportunities, possibilities and practice of running your own business in the deep-tech industry. Our workshops are intended to provide basic knowledge, practical examples and inspiring role models (including personal ones). The workshop is organised on 17, 21 and 29 October in Warsaw, in the building at 4 Rektorska St., room. 4.07, from 4 to 7 pm.

Let's take inspiration from the KONIK Fair - an annual event organised by the WUT Council of Study Circles, where you can see various forms of student activity at WUT in one place: scientific, social-organisational, artistic, sports.... What can you do at Warsaw University of Technology outside of classes? What projects do students carry out and how do you join them? Come and find out!
