Fee for your student ID card
Students starting their studies at the Faculty of Mechatronics,
We kindly remind you to pay a fee of PLN 22 for your student ID card. The payment should be made to the bank account of the Faculty of Mechatronics, available after logging in to USOS Web, in the tab For Students → Settlements. Those of you who do not pay the fee will not receive a ID card on the day of the inauguration.
ONLY PAID ID CARDS WILL BE PRINTED.
Scientists from the Faculty of Mechatronics won the James Dyson award
- During discussions with medics, we realised the scale of the problem. Correct and fast detection of disturbances in the wound healing process and the development of pathogenic microorganisms not only shortens the treatment process, but also makes it possible to stop a life-threatening infection - emphasises Dominik Baraniecki, M.Sc., who, together with Piotr Walter, M.Sc., and Tomasz Raczyński, M.Sc., won the national stage of the James Dyson Award competition. The researchers developed a design for a smart dressing.

End to unpleasant surprises
What do the buzzwords smart home, internet of things and convenience have in common? All of these elements can be found in a simple, yet life-saving invention created by a Polish company producing home and garden electronics. The entrepreneurial approach of the Aquilo company, together with the scientific flair of the employees of our university: Karol Baginski, M.Sc., Wojciech Credo, M.Sc., Sergiusz Łuczak, Prof.Tit. and the head of the Centre for Commercialisation of Research Results - Paweł Zych, M.Sc., has enabled them to create a device facilitating everyday home care.

Preincubation
The Innovation Incubator of CZIiTT of the Warsaw University of Technology is starting recruitment for the 8th edition of the 'Pre-Incubation - a Quick Start for Entrepreneurs' programme. If you have an idea for a business - we encourage you to take a look at the course offer. It is aimed at verifying the assumptions of the idea and building a business model of the future company. Recruitment is open until 10 September.
PhD Student position in REVEAL project
A 2-year funded PhD Student position is currently available at the Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics, Warsaw University of Technology. The position is financed by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme within a collaborative European consortium: REVEAL http://reveal-h2020.eu. This multidisciplinary project comprises innovative microscopy instrumentation, machine learning and multi-omics analysis of cancer cells in 2D and 3D with the final aim to understand the cellular origin hallmarks of this disease.
Obituary
It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of our colleague, Leszek Kudła, Prof.Tit., PhD, BEng who was associated with the Faculty of Mechatronics at the Warsaw University of Technology for over 50 years. A scientist who, as an associate professor at the Institute of Metrology and Biomedical Engineering, became an educator of many generations of excellent specialists. Privately, he was an indispensable and irreplaceable husband, father and grandfather.
Scanner for Sherlock
The projects conducted by our researchers are truly diverse. In one of the latest issues of the Capital Police Magazine, you can read about a 3D scanner developed at our department, which allows skilled specialists to return to the scene of a trial virtually at any time. This state-of-the-art solution helps to reconstruct how a homicide may have occurred. You can read more about modern 3D scanners in Daniel Niezdrop's article 'Bloodstains. Results of the Engineer 4 Science 2022 Competition - we got the awards!
The Polish Section of the IEEE, GovTech Poland and the 4 Science Institute, acting jointly in order to strengthen cooperation between academia and business, support higher education and promote the best graduates of technical schools, would like to announce that in the Engineer 4 Science 2022 Competition, the jury has selected the best thesis: Development of algorithm for cloud of point's segmentation based on orientation similarity by Michał Kossakowski, BEng, prepared under the supervision of Prof. Robert Sitnik, Prof.Tit, PhD, BEng.
Miniature ECG apparatus
It is much smaller than its hospital counterparts, yet in terms of quality it can boldly compete with them. It is a miniature ECG machine, created by a scientist from the Warsaw University of Technology and two doctors.
Mechatronics in the Polish Metrology Programme
2 955 000 PLN - this is exactly the amount of money earmarked for PW under the programme of the Ministry of Education and Science. The condition for receiving funding was a positive opinion from the President of the Central Office of Weights and Measures and confirmed cooperation in the implementation of scientific research and development work. As a result of the competition, it was awarded to four research and development projects from two of the faculties of Warsaw University of Technology: Electronics and Information Technology and Mechatronics.
Call for teams to participate in the coaching process is ongoing

Last call for proposals for funding postgraduate studies and courses and training is underway
The Education Support Department of the Warsaw University of Technology CZIiTT reminds you of the call for applications in the competition for the granting of funding for postgraduate studies, training or specialised courses for employees of the Warsaw University of Technology, which runs until 31 July 2022. This is the last chance to benefit from this kind of support under Task 25 "Modern university management" of the "NERW 2 PW. Science-Education-Development-Cooperation' project.

News for 2nd degree studies candidates for the winter of 2022/2023 academic year
The university will open recruitment for the following studies during the winter term:
- Automatics, Robotics and Industrial IT (in line with the tutor system - no specialisation);
- Mechatronics (in line with the tutor system - no specialisation);
- Biomedical Engineering (in line with the tutor system - no specialisation);
- Mechatronics – studies in English (recruitment for the citizens of Poland) (specialisation: Mechatronic Devices and Systems).
Falling Walls Lab international contest!
The participants entering the contest by 30 June 2022, will receive an invitation to an online training course on creating one’s image and delivering public speeches, as well as the book “Art of Promoting Science. Practical Guide for Scholars”, published by National Information Processing Institute - National Research Institute. Final deadline is 15 August, 2022.
