Our student has designed a robot that will assist the firefighters
„LIvE SAVER” – this is the name of the remotely controlled mobile robot that will assist firefighters during their actions. It was designed by Piotr Kurządkowski, a student of the Faculty of Mechatronics of PW and a volunteer firefighter.
Recruitment for the PW Makers “3D printing basics” workshops
The Department of Innovation Development of Young Scientists invites students of Warsaw University of Technology from the last four semesters of studies of the first or second degree to workshops: "3D printing basics". During three meetings, the participants will gain knowledge and skills sufficient to start their own projects using 3D printing technology, as well as learn the practice of creating a model, operating a printer and its software and then, supported by tutors, will carry out their first independent projects based on their own ideas. Dates: 18.03.2022, 19.03.2022, 20.03.2022.

Post-PhD internship at the University of Michigan
Warsaw University of Technology and the Dekaban Foundation have announced a contest for a post-PhD studies internship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The internship is scheduled to start on 1 October, 2022. Please submit your applications (your resume and cover letter in English) by 2 May, 2022 at the latest to prorektor.nauka@pw.edu.pl and to rlmich@umich.edu.
Library training for 1st year students
The library training for 1st year students of the summer term will take place between 21 March and 3 April, 2022. The course will take place in both Polish and English. For more information, please visit the Main Library website.
Medkits for Ukraine
First batch of medkits from the Faculty of Mechatronics for the people fighting for Ukraine has departed. We would like to express our gratitude for all those who donated and enabled us to finance this package. It is with your help that we have been able to collect 5460 PLN during the first week of the action. The money has been entrusted to Iryna Gorbenko, our employee and a PhD student. Her father is the head of a medical centre in Kiev. The collect box is still in the Dean’s Office and we will continue to help.

Recruitment for the Erasmus + program has been opened in USOS for the academic year 2022/23. The application period ends on March 31st 2022. Details on the requirements can be found at erasmus.pw.edu.pl
We’ve got the power!
Today we donated PLN 5460 to our employee and doctoral student Iryna Gorbenko. The money will be used to buy specialist medical kits, which will support the work of doctors in Kiev. The goal is even closer to us since Iryna's dad is in charge of the medical staff in Kiev.

Warsaw University of Technology launches a central collection of goods for assisting Ukraine
There is a central collection point in the Main Building of Warsaw University of Technology where we collect food with long expiry dates, cosmetics and chemicals, bandages, new blankets and sleeping bags (a detailed list below).
Popularising the techniques of digital documentation of objects of cultural heritage
Since 2005, the King John III Wilanów Palace Museum has been cooperating with the Faculty of Mechatronics of the Warsaw University of Technology in the development of digital measurement techniques. Particularly intensive activities in this field are related to the innovative development of the technique of three-dimensional scanning called scanning with structural illumination.
iThenticate
It is with pleasure that we inform you that the Main Library has extended the licence of the iThenticate anti-plagiarism software for another year. The programme enables us to verify a document (mainly in English) for plagiarism prior to its publication by means of comparing it with open sources available online and with databases indexed by iThenticate. We do not recommend verifying texts in Polish due to insufficient reference base.
Complimentary MS Office 365
PW IT Centre has provided the PW employees with MS OFfice 365 software and 36-months subscription. As an added benefit, all PW students can use the software as well.
Our students at Expo in Dubai
We are proud of a student from our Faculty - Mike Ryan and his colleague from the University of Edinburgh, Aleksander Trakul, who have represented us at at the Expo trade fair show in Dubai. The gentlemen have been presenting their EXTRUDE ZERO project which has won the Polish edition of the James Dyson award (the presentation is a part of Polish week of science). Congratulations!
IELTS and CAE certificates within your reach
There is an opportunity for you to learn a language for free! As a part of the NERW PW programme, Faculty of Foreign Languages organises courses in English, preparing for the CAE and IELTS exams. The courses and exams are complimentary for students (funded with EU funds).
The LEGO Challenge at CERN
We invite our students to participate in the 'euspen Talent Programme', which this year is organised under the “The LEGO Challenge at CERN” slogan. 'Talent Programme' of the euspen international scientific association - The European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology, enables people to work in international, interdisciplinary teams on solutions of a selected task from the area of precise engineering and nanotechnology.
NCN OPUS 19 – Master student position filled
Warsaw University of Technology Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics announced a call for Master Student position within the NCN OPUS 19 Project: [PHAICELL] Coherent quantitative phase microscopy: revisiting the basics and proposing novel numerical reconstruction methods with applications for advanced label-free bio-imaging.
