Ukraine Day

Warsaw University of Technology is organising a Ukraine Day. This event is part of the Enhance Task Force Ukraine - one of the initiatives of the ENHANCE consortium of European universities, to which our University belongs. The Ukraine Day is organised in cooperation with the Universitat Politècnica de València, with the participation of the polytechnics of Kiev and Lviv. The event will take place on 06.06 from 09:00 - 14:00 in a hybrid formula - online and on the premises of the Warsaw University of Technology (in the building at 4 Rektorska Street) and Universitat Politècnica de València. Telemedicine and e-Health 2024

We invite participants from a wide range of disciplines related to telemedicine, e-health, telehealth and m-health to participate in a conference aimed at presenting highly innovative research in telemedicine and related fields. The event provides a meeting place for academic researchers and R&D practitioners from all fields related to the development of telemedicine solutions: medicine, healthcare services, public health, biomedical engineering, computer science, information technology, social sciences and economics. Scholarships for Girls

We invite you to apply for scholarships under the tenth edition of the ‘New Technologies for Girls’ programme, run by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation and Intel. We have twenty-five scholarships to distribute for the academic year 2024/2025, each in the amount of PLN 12,000 gross. This is the first and only scholarship programme in Poland for young women tying their future to the technology industry. The initiative aims to encourage girls' interest in new technologies and the education that goes with creating them. You can apply until 30 June this year. Day of Turkey

Jan Socha the winner of the 4th Polish Senior Cup in swordplay

Good news just after the long May weekend. Janek Socha, a protégé of  Michał Nowicki, PhD, in the Electronic Measurement Systems specialisation, currently finishing the sixth semester of his studies, became the winner of the 4th Polish Senior Fencing Cup. In the two-day tournament, the Hutnik Steel Wedge and the golden platter of the PRUIM company were fought for on Saturday, while the Antoni Franz Memorial was held on Sunday. Jan Socha and Mateusz Antkiewicz competed in the final. After a fierce finish, Jan Socha proved to be better by one hit. The fencer of the Polish Fencing Club of Warsaw won with 13:12. Congratulations!

Application of tools for generative artificial intelligence

The Artificial Intelligence Opportunities Exploration and Exploitation team, responding to the growing interest in generative artificial intelligence models in every aspect of life, cordially invites those studying at the Warsaw University of Technology to share their experiences of using generative artificial intelligence tools in an anonymous survey:https://ankieta.pw.edu.pl/index.php/644669?newtest=Y&lang=pl

The survey will be active until 30 April, 2024. We are keen to get cross-sectional information from all representatives of the CI. This is part of a project entitled. „Creative Revolution: Analysis of Opportunities at PW". Its goal is among others to diagnose the possibilities of utilising AI models for improving the functioning of our University.

Cancellation

The contracting authority announces that it is cancelling the procedure for the execution of the civil contract entitled. ‘Experimental studies related to the possibility of improving the resolution of tomographic imaging in lens-free holographic microscopy’. In the announcement of 12 April, 2024 launching the procedure, the Ordering Party mistakenly put the date of bid submission as 24 March, 2024 and included an attachment with a model civil law contract (attachment 2a contract of mandate) instead of a contract for specific work (attachment 6a to the Rector's order no. 87/2021). At the same time, the Contracting Authority informs that it is posting a new notice IMiF-98a/2024 seeking bidders for the execution of a civil law contract (contract for work) entitled. , ‘Experimental studies related to the possibility of improving the resolution and realisation of tomographic imaging in lensless holographic microscopy’.

Scopus AI

Test access to Scopus AI: Revolutionising research search with artificial intelligence. We invite you to test the new Scopus AI tool (Scopus AI tab on the Scopus homepage) under Elsevier's national licence. Scopus AI is an intuitive and intelligent search tool based on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). The tool helps at every stage of academic work: when conducting research, searching and reviewing results, reviewing articles, verifying data and when creating bibliographies. Scopus AI draws on the metadata and abstracts of papers registered in Scopus and published after 2013. Access to the tool will be active until 31.05.2024.

ANTI-BIAS LUNCH BREAK AT ENHANCE

We are pleased that the issue of countering prejudice is involving more and more people from the ENHANCE community. So far, 11 meetings have been held with a total of nearly 300 participants. The training lasts only 60 minutes and can be attended over lunch, for example.  The dates to choose from are ️23 May and ️4 June 2024.

Plotting Sustainability Hybrid Summer School - ENHANCE summer school on power struggles in the city

The Berlin University of Technology invites the students of all courses from the ENHANCE university to the Plotting Sustainability - ENHANCE summer school on power struggles in the city. The course will consist of two preparatory online meetings (27 May and 1 June 2024 from 14.00-16.00) and a residential part, which will take place at the Technical University of Berlin from 15.07-19.07.2024.

ERC Starting Grant – call for application for Postdoctoral Researcher position

Warsaw University of Technology Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics announces a call for a Postdoctoral Researcher position within the project entitled “Lensless label-free nanoscopy”, funded by the European Commission as part of the call for ERC Starting Grants (Horizon Europe Programme). The project offers unique conditions for scientific research in an innovative area of lensless holographic nanoscopy (LHN).

Movies Workshops at Mechatronics

We would like to invite you to a movies workshop on Wednesday, 10 April, 2024 between 16:00-17:00 in room 242. It will be an opportunity to meet the representatives of the movie industry, learn novelties about the equipment and to see the movies made by students in previous years. We will also prepare contests with awards :-)

Taiwan-Europe Connectivity Scholarship Programme

Apply for the scholarship program with a total scholarship amount of $2,700 for up to 4 months. The scholarship will be awarded to the recipient every month from September 2024 to December 2024 (NTD 22,500/month, about USD 675). Application deadline: by May 25, 2024, and application results: June 15, 2024. Taiwan Tech retains the right to select and award the scholarship to qualified applicants. The scholarship recipient does not have to be accepted as an exchange student. Qualified students can only receive the scholarship once.

The POLITYKA Magazine Foundation for the 24th time invites young scholars to apply for the POLITYKA Science Awards.  

  • The target: We are looking for people who during the last two years have achieved a milestone in their professional lives  - be it a PhD thesis, a book, a significant scientific article, completion of a research project, establishing a team or gaining a position of significance at a research institution.
