Competition for the ABB Award

Take part in the Competition for the ABB Award for the best defended BE, ME and PhD papers. Main award is PLN 30 000 and two awards of PLN 15 000. The deadline for applications is 15 November 2023. The organiser is ABB Corporate Technological Centre.

Training courses as a part of the ENHANCE consortium

Foreign Languages Study invites PW students to enrol in courses prepared in cooperation with the Aachen University of Technology and the Valentia University of Technology as a part of the ENHANCE consortium. The deadline for applications is 5 October 2023. All graduates receive certificates.

Get an insurance at PZU

Insurance is available to employees, full-time and part-time students and doctoral students. The sum insured per person is PLN 65,000 and the annual premium payable once per person is: PLN 60. The insurance period is the next academic year, i.e. 01.10.2023. - 30.09.2024. Payments for the insurance should be made to the virtual account of Warsaw University of Technology. Fee for student ID cards

ATTENTION: First-year students (academic year 2023/2024). It is essential that you pay your student ID card fee (PLN 22) to the individual account visible after logging in to the USOS system.

Check your mail at the addresses provided by the university.

Should you fail to make the payment, the student cards will not be printed and therefore you will not receive them after the inauguration of the academic year. The pass will also not be printed if there is no photo uploaded to the system.

Last Goodbye

It is with deepest grief and sadness that we inform you that Anna Lewińska-Romicka, PhD, BEng has passed away on 16 September 2023. She was a long-standing researcher at the PW Faculty of Mechatronics.

The funeral services will begin with a memorial service on 26 September 2023 (Tuesday) at 10:00 in the Halpert Chapel at the Evangelical-Augsburg graveyard.

23rd COMPETITION OF DIPLOMA PAPERS KONKURS PRAC DYPLOMOWYCH for the Jerzy I. Skowroński, Prof.Tit.

We would like to kindly inform you that the XXXIII Competition named after Jerzy I. Skowronski, Prof.Tit., for the best thesis in the field of electrotechnology, high voltage or electrotechnical materials. The aim of the Competition is to develop modern national electrotechnology and electrotechnical materials science in memory of Professor Jerzy I. Skowronski, founder of the Polish school of electrotechnical material science.

Inauguration 2023

The Dean and Faculty Council of the Faculty of Mechatronics of Warsaw University of Technology kindly invite for the Inauguration of the 2023/2024 academic year at the Faculty of Mechatronics.

Steve Wozniak at PW - 22 September 2023

KONIK XX Fair of Students Study Groups and Students Organisations

How do PW students pursue their passions outside of classes? You can find out on 10 and 11 October 2023 between 10.00 and 16.00 by visiting the Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology. We would like to invite you to the jubilee edition of the KONIK fair! This year, during KONIK, visitors will  see, among other things, student-created rovers, electric cars and glider models, as well as take part in chemical demonstrations and learn more about the 3D printing technology. EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023!

The EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 finale is over! The Polish representation has won 13 medals: 3 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze and 6 medals of excellence! There are the students from our Faculty among the winners: Hubert Krasuski and Piotr Wyrzyk from the Automatics, Robotics and Industrial IT. They won the European edition of the World Skills contest in the Industrial Robots Integration category. Thank you for the emotions your performance has provided, we are extremely proud of you! Congratulations!

NCN OPUS – call for applications for PhD Student position

Warsaw University of Technology Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics announces a call for a PhD Student position within the NCN OPUS Project entitled “[PHAICELL] Coherent quantitative phase microscopy: revisiting the basics and proposing novel numerical reconstruction methods with applications for advanced label-free bio-imaging”.  The project offers unique conditions for scientific research in an innovative area of optical bio-imaging and attractive remuneration. Recruitment to the ATHENS programme

Warsaw University of Technology students are invited to apply for the week-long ATHENS programme run at 15 universities of technology across Europe. The programme consists of a 5-day course (30 hours) and a cultural component. You can earn 2-3 ECTS credits for it. Participation in the ATHENS programme is free of charge. Students cover their living expenses on their own. 

Recruitment will run from 9-19 September 2023. The next ATHENS session will take place from 18-25 November 2023. The list of courses will be published on the day the recruitment starts at http://athensnetwork.eu/  More information in English: HERE.

MIDI 2023

The PW Faculty of Mechatronics, being the honorary patron of the event, invites  to the Conference on machines intelligence and digital interaction (MIDI 2023). The organizer of the event is the National Information Processing Institute in Warsaw, which runs research on most inspirational areas of IT, such as AI, semantic text analysis, human-computer interaction and user experience. MIDI 2023 offers a unique platform for scholars at all levels. Regardless of whether you’re an ambitious student, a PhD student or a post-doc, this is your opportunity! Link to registration.

Warsaw High School Graduates Saloon 2023

On 14 and 15 September, from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m., representatives of universities from Poland and abroad will appear in the Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology. At our stand, as usual, there will be students and staff - the best guides to Warsaw University of Technology. They will tell you about the fields of study, activities after classes, dormitories and, of course, recruitment rules. They will answer questions (including the probably most frequently asked one, "Is it difficult to study at PW?"). They'll explain what it means that we are #alwaysinquisitive and that's the kind of people we're waiting for. Of course, we have prepared information materials and gadgets..

NaNoLens – see more, more precisely and faster

Lenseless holographic microscopy opens new opportunities for screening alive cells. Maciej Trusiak, Prof.Tit., PhD, BEng. of the Faculty of Mechatronics of Warsaw University of Technology, will be the first one to utilise it in the NaNoLens project. Trusiak is the first PW researcher to receive the ERC grant.
